Bridon Glenlord “Benny” passed his inspections with flying colors in September 2006. Judges were impressed with his wonderful confirmation, athleticism and temperament. He is everything they look for in and RID stallion. On lookers seemed to be unable to take their eyes off of him. There is a certain bold elegance about the way this stallion carries himself. He has presence, trainability, gorgeous movement and a temperament that cannot be beat. He is definitely the whole package. Bridon Glenlord has absolutely one of the most outstanding pedigrees available in an RID today. He goes back to some of the most influential Irish Draughts in history including Pride of Shaunlara and Ben Purple on his sires side and Rakish Paddy, Milestone and King of Diamonds on his dam’s side. These are some of the leading stallions and most sought after blood lines in Irish breeding history. Keep in mind – “the better the breeding, the easier the training”. So, if you are looking for performance superstar in any arena look no further than Bridon Glenlord. Bridon Glenlord is one of a few approved stallions by the wonderful stallion Glenlara who passed away in July of 2006. Glenlara had a well established performance record in England, Ireland and the US. He was NaSta Performance Tested receiving very high marks in Cross Country, Show-jumping, Free-jumping, Temperament and Character. He was shown successfully in Dressage and was even featured in Your Horse Magazine. He show jumped to Grade B and competed in Combined Training. Horse and Hound Magazine listed him as one of the most interesting RID Stallions for his jumping ability in 1996. Glenlara proved himself in the show ring and passed on his strengths and amazing talents to his offspring. |

Bridon Glenlord definitely inherited Glenlara’s outstanding performance traits. He is built to perform, with powerful movement, a scopey jump, and stepping well under himself, lifting his back allowing for full use of his body. He has lots of substance, but moves with lightness and suspension. Bridon Glenlord’s dam Di Lady is an outstanding mare in her own right. She was awarded “Quality Broodmare” status in Ireland, an honor only given exceptional bloodlines and confirmation. She is a solid mare with correct limbs, floating movement and a phenomenal temperament. Some of Di Lady’s accomplishments include 1st place at the Warrenton Show in 2002, 1st place Purebred Mare 8 and up at the 2003 IDHS (NA) National Show, 2nd Produce of Dam at the 2003 ISHS (NA) National Show and 2003 IDHS (NA) Year End Achievement Award – Purebred Mares.

Of course the proof is in the offspring. We are so pleased with Benny’s first few foal crops. He stamps all of his babies with an amazing temperament, lots of bone, and excellent conformation. His foals are winning in hand across the country. We can hardly wait for the first crop to be started under saddle. There is no doubt they will excel in the show ring under saddle, just as they have in hand. Bridon Glenlord has begun his under saddle show career with gusto this year. The jump trainer is so impressed with his quickness, use of his shoulder, natural bascule and his wiliness to work. He is quiet yet bold and confident over fences. For such a big horse he exudes lightness and ease with all of his jumping. After weeks of jump training Benny was asked to change gears back to dressage and went to his first dressage show. As usually he was a hit with on lookers and judges. He was not only a perfect gentleman but showed off his versatility by performing successfully in dressage with just a few days preparation. He placed second in both of his classes behind a much more experienced horse scoring in the high 60’s. We have no doubt that Benny will continue to impress in his future endeavors.
